the Valley
Our little paradise
Landscape
Set in a clay landscape with unsual erosive formations, the valle extends for the length of the stream with many corners and the odd gulley. The finca sits at a height between 710 and 800 metres above sea level and includes some moutain areas. There is a huge degree of biodiversity in the Valle, a mixture of fruit trees with wild trees: oranges, almonds, olives, pommegranates, figs...
contrasting with a jungle of willow, cane, blackberries... and everywhere wild aromatic plants: rosemary, thyme, horsetail, mint...
Clima
The valle has its own microclimate: comfortable summers with gentle temperatures thanks to the mountains, trees and stream, all a luxury when all the surrounding land is smothered by heat.
The nights are refreshing and you are always comfortable with a blanket. In winter the days can be sunny with temperatures perfect for T shirts and sunbathing. The nights are cold and damp with temperatures that might pass 0 degrees between December and March. At times there is some rain for several weeks, but it is rare for the sun not to come through at least once every day.
Water
Water is our greatest treasure. A stream runs through the middle of the finca. This feeds our taps for washing irrigatingsystems, a pond with waterlilies, channels, showers romantically hidden in the cane. An irrigation channel passes through the Valle that provides water for our neighbourgs lands in summer and feeds our waterwheel in winter where the valley opens up to the green fields
our land reaches to the Yator-river.
Design
Creating landart learning from nature, integrating forms as much organic as artistic. Creating human structures and put them in the hands of mother earth, not maintaining artificial systems disguised as natural. It encourages the creation of biosystems where we live harmoniously like an enriched part.
